Salesforce Sales Cloud alternatives: what else is worth comparing
This is a shortlist for a specific buying conversation, built from the product records and source dates we have for each option. See Salesforce Sales Cloud’s own page for its full profile, or go back to Salesforce Sales Cloud.
Salesforce Sales Cloud earns its place as the category incumbent for a real reason: its customization layer can be reshaped to fit almost any sales process, and no other CRM matches its ecosystem of roughly 3,000 integrations. But that same depth is what pushes people to look elsewhere — reviewers' single most common criticism is that reshaping Salesforce well takes a dedicated admin or an implementation partner, and licensing plus add-on costs climb quickly past the $25-per-user-per-month entry point. If your team doesn't have that admin capacity, or doesn't need Salesforce's scale in the first place, these three are worth real consideration.
1. Attio — for teams that want flexibility without the admin overhead
Attio is the closest thing to Salesforce's customization philosophy without the implementation cost. It's built on a fully customizable, no-code data model — custom objects, fields, and workflows shaped to your actual process — but configuring it is meant to be something a team does itself, not something that requires a consultant. It also has a genuine free tier, versus Salesforce's custom-quote-only pricing, making it a far lower-risk way to test whether that flexibility is actually useful before committing spend.
The honest tradeoff: Attio lists 45 integrations against Salesforce's roughly 3,000, and it has real gaps around a unified inbox and native forms that Salesforce (and other mature CRMs) include out of the box. It's also not built for enterprise-grade predictive forecasting on day one. If your team is mid-market or smaller and values fast, self-serve setup over ecosystem breadth, that tradeoff usually favors Attio.
2. Pipedrive — for teams that just need deals moving, not a configuration project
Where Attio matches Salesforce's flexibility, Pipedrive is close to its opposite: a CRM organized entirely around one visual pipeline, so a new rep can see exactly what to do next without training. That focus is exactly what a lot of Salesforce refugees are looking for — teams whose sales process doesn't actually need Salesforce-level configurability, and who'd rather not pay for capability they don't use. Pipedrive's entry pricing starts at $14 per user per month, meaningfully below Salesforce, with predictable per-seat costs rather than a custom quote.
The real limitation is depth: Pipedrive's own reporting is considered shallow versus Salesforce, especially on lower-tier plans, and it isn't built for enterprises needing deep, highly customizable analytics. It's a strong swap for small-to-midsize teams — not a like-for-like replacement for a large, process-heavy sales org.
3. Freshsales — for teams that want to be running in an hour, with phone built in
Freshsales solves a specific problem Salesforce is notorious for: slow, admin-heavy setup. Reviewers describe going from signup to a working pipeline in under an hour, and it bundles a phone/dialer system natively — something Salesforce handles through third-party telephony integrations instead. Freshsales also has a genuine free tier and starts as a freemium product, a very different cost posture from Salesforce's custom-quote enterprise pricing.
What you give up: Freshsales' reporting is also considered basic, customization is limited on lower-priced plans, and its integration marketplace (around 100, centered on other Freshworks products) is nowhere near Salesforce's scale. It's the strongest pick here specifically for small-to-mid-size teams who want to be selling immediately rather than configuring for weeks — particularly if you're already using Freshdesk or Freshchat.
Which one actually replaces Salesforce for you
If you need Salesforce's flexibility but not its admin overhead, start with Attio. If your team's real need is "reps need to move deals through a pipeline, nothing more," Pipedrive is the more affordable, more focused choice. If speed to first working pipeline matters more than reporting depth, Freshsales gets there fastest, especially with phone included. None of the three attempt to be a like-for-like Salesforce replacement at enterprise scale — if your organization genuinely needs Salesforce-level customization and a dedicated admin is already budgeted, that depth may still be worth the cost it demands.
